Black Keys: El Camino

Original Release: 2011 Nonesuch Records

Black Keys: El Camino

The Black Keys released their 7th and most successful album, El Camino, on the heels of the critically acclaimed Brothers album. Enlisting the production and songwriting prowess of Danger Mouse, the Keys hit on multiple genres of music ranging from 50s through the 70s.

Sonically, the pressing is much like their previous Nonesuch Records releases. Detail could be better; however, the low end bass and top end edginess that is The Black Keys trademark sound is ever present. This is a record for nights when you are feeling edgy yourself and are looking to play something that fits the mood. You’ll simply need to play it loud to gain the full effect and benefit of a great record by The Black Keys. Great music, energy, sound, and lyrics!

This pressing is as good as they come from a manufacturer such as Nonesuch Records, which is not bad to say the least and par for today's mass production releases. Keep in mind, The Black Keys sound is garage band like, so even an audiophile version of this record, if one existed, would still sound very similar to this release.

All that said, it is definitely a record that is worth the investment! 💰
