Norah Jones: Come Away With Me

Come Away With Me established Norah Jones as a formidable female jazz vocalist. Ranked as one of the best in the 90s, she has gone on from this freshman release to justify the hype that followed this release.

While never considered an audiophile’s dream record, Come Away With Me was certainly a better than average release. Classic Records, an audiophile label, released Come Away With me on 200g vinyl in 2008.

While the record is certainly better than the mass produced versions available nearly everywhere, like many of the 200g releases by Classic Records, it lacks range. It also lacks the type of vocal presence and instrumental detail that jazz albums are known for.

It is warm, elegant and very listenable on an audiophile system, but maybe not as much of a WOW factor as it could have been. For example, check out our review of the same record by Analogue Productions. Same record, but better mastering.
