Hank Williams III: Straight To Hell

Hank Williams III is an enigma. At times on this record he sounds like his legendary grandfather. At other times he brings a little of his legendary father to the room. Then again, there are times he’s belting it out like he is opening for Megadeth.

He is unique and certainly does it his own way. His lyrics range from classic honky tonk country to offensive in-your-face obnoxiousness. You get all that and more on this album.

Straight To Hell is a two record set that includes the original release and a record that is very much Sr. Influenced. Both are good. That is if you’re a Hank fan. If you’re not, you may want to dip your toes carefully.

As far as the pressing is concerned, it is good. It is actually better than most we hear these days. So, you get cool looking red and black splattered vinyl records that sound good as good as they look. That is a pleasant surprise!
