Elvis Presley: International Hotel Las Vegas August 26, 1969
Original Release: 2019 RCA Victor
Reissue: 2019 Sony Legacy/RCA Victor/We Are Music
Elvis Presley played many a live show at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. August 26, 1969 was one to remember and a welcome addition to Elvis' vinyl catalog. Apart from two shows in 1961 and the NBC TV show, Elvis hadn’t performed on stage for 11 years. After years of not so great movies and abysmal record sales, Elvis began to turn his career around with his 1968 TV special. International Hotel in Las Vegas demonstrates all the charm and charisma that made him great and led him to become the King of Rock n' Roll.

Released on vinyl for the first time in 2019, International Hotel in Las Vegas was distributed on pink and yellow vinyl by We Are Vinyl and mastered at Battery Studios in New York. For the record, it is rare that a live record sounds great on vinyl. This is not one of those releases. Sony/RCA Victor/We Are Music did a very nice job of replicating the energy and charisma that made Elvis' live performances so special. The record has solid bass, good detail, and fairly strong dynamic range. Overall, it is a good representation of the King's live shows and captures who he was very well. 💵
